Cop killing wife pleads guilty
Case to appear in Regional Court this afternoon (Wednesday) after wife of murdered policeman pleads guilty
The 33-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the murder of her policeman husband pleaded guilty in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court this morning (Wednesday).
The accused in the case are 33-year-old Hlengiwe Precious Xaba and 29-year-old Mduduzi Delani Zuma. The latter is believed to have carried out the actual killing.
The attack on 50-year-old Warrant Officer Bongani Sibusiso Xaba took place on Friday, May 23, while he and his wife were travelling along Collings Pass in the Elandslaagte area. The couple allegedly stopped due to mechanical problems and that is when the policeman was brutally assaulted. He died in hospital almost a month later on June 22.
The wife and her accomplice were arrested on Monday, July 14, and both have since appeared in court twice, facing charges of murder.
The case will appear in the Regional Court this afternoon at 2pm.
