Sports stars receive awards at Gala Dinner

UThukela hosted a ‘Gala Dinner, Comedy Night and Awards Ceremony’ at the Indoor Sports Complex on Friday night last week.
The decor was oh-so-elegant, and the guests got to enjoy a scrumptious meal and dessert while having their funny bones tickled by the comedians who performed on the night.
However, the people who stole the show were the sports players and coaches who were rewarded with trophies for their outstanding sporting achievements.
Children from different schools attended the event and awards were presented to top achievers from all over the uThukela district. Among the recipients was star swimmer Cassidy Muller.
Councillors, including Ladysmith Deputy Mayor Sindi Mfusi, graced the occasion with their presence. uThukela Mayor Dudu Mazibuko spoke at the event, and thanked the guests for their attendance and support.
