The 2013 Matric certificates have arrived and can be collected from the DHS office.
Mandela Day: On Friday, July 25 DHS dedicated 67 minutes to Mandela Day (which was July 18, but was missed due to the school holidays). Learners worked with their register teachers to devote 67 minutes to cleaning up the school and the surrounding area. 
Many learners were dressed in garbage bags and gloves, cleaning up as much dirt as they could find, or painting and clearing classrooms. 
DHS would like to thank the learners and educators who took their 67 minutes seriously. 
It was sad to see that many of the public spaces and pavements that had been cleaned on Friday had already accumulated dirt and litter by Monday morning, but DHS is still very proud of what their learners were able to accomplish in such a small amount of time.
Choir festival: On Friday evening the Youth Choir hosted a choir festival in the DHS school hall in order to raise funds for their tour. 
Dundee Junior performed first, followed by the Biggarsberg choir. It amazed and inspired the audience to hear such beautiful voices springing from such small children. 
The DHS Gospel Choir then performed, and made DHS very proud. The highlight of the evening – the performance of the NKZN Youth Choir – did not disappoint, with a spectacular performance that sang to the heart of the audience. 
Finally, all choirs massed together on stage for a final performance before the evening was over. 
The learners left the hall still singing, and as the school bus drove away a chorus of singing could still be heard down the street.
