This day aims to raise awareness of the plight of human trafficking victims and help promote their rights.

Human trafficking a callous industry that denies victims of their rights and dignity generates billions of dollars for organized criminal networks is bringing turmoil to millions of families. With 21-30 million people in slavery today, the turmoil is fast becoming an endemic. According to statistics 2 million children are estimated to be trafficking victims of sex trade each year and the average age of the victims range between 13 and upwards. An even more shocking statistics is that the average amount a slave is sold for  is $90 which is 954,36 in South African Rand.

With this in mind show your support and outrage by taking a picture of yourself forming a heart with your hands. This symbolizes your pledge to offer hope to the many victims of human trafficking. Using the hashtag #givehope, share your media across social media platforms and post it on the blue heart face book page.
