Vryheid SPCA – Can you assist?

These poor Greyhounds suffered terribly at the hands of their owner, until the SPCA stepped in and rescued them.

Approximately three years ago, Vryheid SPCA took over the care of 22 Greyhounds, after they had been confiscated from their owner, who was later charged with animal cruelty.

The condition of the abused dogs was very poor, with many of them scarred and suffering from infections and old, untreated wounds and fractures. Sadly, some of the dogs had to be euthanised, due to the extent of their injuries.

To date the SPCA is still taking care of 15 of the previously neglected Greyhounds, pending the outcome of the case. Their condition has improved drastically, but such maintenance is costly and funding is necessary to keep these animals in the good condition they so rightly deserve, after all they have endured.

If anyone could assist with the costs involved in the welfare of these majestic animals, or would like to become a sponsor, please contact the Vryheid SPCA on 034 980 8888.
