Earthquake claims one life
One man confirmed dead and many injured following earthquake.
Social media is still abuzz with news of the 5.3 magnitude earthquake that hit South Africa today.
Reports came in from people throughout the country, and even other African states, who said they felt the tremors.
Sadly though, it was residents of Orkney in the North West Province, who bore the biggest brunt of the earthquake.
It was confirmed that a 31-year-old man tragically lost his life as a result of the disaster.
Seventeen employees were also injured at two of AngloGold Ashanti’s Vaal River mines in North West.
