LOCAL rock band, Black Whiskey, will be performing at Dee’s Restaurant and Pub on Friday, August 8.
The band was scheduled to perform at the Vryheid SPCA/Child Welfare Dinner and Dance, which was to be held on the same date, however the event was cancelled, due to a lack of support.
As Ghandi once said, “The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
With that in mind, Black Whiskey, with Phillip Taylor on guitar and vocals; Kelvin Bland on drums and Estiaan Fritze of Bridge6 fame on bass guitar, have taken it upon themselves to nevertheless ensure that funds will be raised on August 8 for both worthy charities.
The event will begin at 8:00pm and the audience can expect another outstanding performance from the talented group of musicians, who wowed the crowd at Vryheid Rugby Club last week after the finals against Newcastle, as well as an acoustic set by the musically versatile frontman, Phillip Taylor.
There will be an open guitar case, where generous patrons can donate money, which will then be given to Vryheid SPCA and Child Welfare Vryheid.
“We just want to lend a hand,” says Phillip, “and if we can help these causes by doing what we love, then we say, ‘Why not?'”
