The following learners received certificates for coming first in their respective classes:

  • Grade 4: Owen Morgenrood; Nondumiso Mcineka; Mariam Mehtar and Wandile Xulu.
  • Grade 5; Jason Mossop; Olwethu Ndwandwe and Zahra Cassim.
  • Grade 6: Alison Freiburg; Muhammed Manjoo and Gausiyah Gora.
  • Grade 7: Lana Schoeman; Tasmiyyah Ebrahim and Asande Zulu.

Choir Festival: On Tuesday, August 12, at 6:30pm, NRS will be hosting the annual Choir Festival in the Vryheid High School Hall.

It promises to be an inspiring evening of great music performed by, amongst others, all the high school choirs of our town. Tickets are R20-00 per person and will be available at the doors.

Cricket: On Thursday, July 31, our u/13 team played their first match of the season against Michaelis on the NRS fields. Batting second, NRS scored 130 runs for two wickets and won the match by nine wickets. Well done!

Karate: Congratulations to Muhammed Manjoo on receiving his black belt in karate.
