Successful AGM lures in new members and new ideas

A VERY successful AGM was held on July 26.

The services of Brent Bevon will not be available at the moment due to work pressure, but he will be a force to be reckoned with in the leagues and the roving league. The club wishes him well and thanks him for his dedication and hard work. Brent is a man of few words, but with a lethal Bass rod.

The new selected office bearers for 2014/2015 year are Miles Wood (Chairman); Louwtjie Joubert (Vice-Chairman); Paul Steffenson (Treasurer); Allan Muller (Media Officer); Zane Formo (Weighmaster); Amelia Wood (Secretary) and Jolene Formo (Booking Officer).

Two additional members were selected and they are Robbie Price and Brent Bevon. Congratulations. Hard work is expected.

In the minutes, it is recorded that we will have juniors joining the club at R100-00 p.a. The idea is to have juniors join the club even if their parents have no interest in fishing with lures. If you are younger than 18 years old and have a passion for fishing with lures, join the club and we will take you with us to bass destinations in and outside of Vryheid. If parents are interested, the whole family can join on the prescribed tariff for a whole year. Should you be interested, call Paul Steffenson on 079 057 5519 immediately.

Thanks to Paul for organising the Balele Trout Run. It was well received by the club’s Trout clan.

Please note that the new year’s proceedings will start with the first league in 2014/2015 at Bloemveld Dam on August 16 from 6:00am until 6:00pm.

Bring the family and join the fishing. The club’s EXCO commitee has their first meeting on August 7.
