St Dominic’s Academy runners from Grades 2 to 7 took part in the cross country meet held at Drakensberg Primary School earlier this month. With three medal winners and many of the athletes making the top 10 in their age groups, the day proved to be a great success for the cross country enthusiasts.

Grace Hoatson and Caitlin le Roux participated in the Utrecht Cross Country Championship recently and were placed 7th and 9th respectively.

The school wishes to congratulate the following medal winners: u/8 girls: Jacey Filipe (2nd and the youngest participant) and Caitlin Le Roux (3rd). U/11 boys: Emile Holtak (2nd).

Other top 10 places: u/8 girls: Grace Hoatson (4th) and Abongile Masondo (6th). U/8 boys: Ryan Bernstein (7th), Soren Petersen (9th) and Ibrahim Madi (10th). U/9 girls: Afika Nkosi (6th), Siphesihle Sithole (8th), Phiwo Mncube (9th) and Mpumelelo Zincume (10th). U/9 boys: Minenhle Makhubu (9th). U/11 girls: Chrisme Grobler (6th) and Mahomed Ali Gumbi (10th). U/12 girls: Paula van Zyl (5th). U/12 boys: Kundai Govere (10th).
