DHS welcomed Mr D Halforty and Miss R Honiball to the DHS staff last week Tuesday. Both will be teaching English HL, and DHS is grateful for their willingness to help out with the sudden vacancy.
Bundu Bash
Dundee High had such great fun at the Treverton Bundu Bash. The learners/athletes took part in the Chainsaw, Dustbuster and Trail Run events. The DHS Multisport kids are gaining in confidence as they participate in more events individually.
This led to a lack of space on the bike trailer for everyone’s bicycles (hint hint…). Congratulations to the following athletes: Caitlyn Mitchell and Simba Chawanda both came third in their respective age groups in the Dustbuster event. Christiaan van Dyk came first in his age group in the Chainsaw event, and Soené Kolesky took third in her age group in the Chainsaw. Well done DHS – keep up the brilliant multisporting spirit!
Choir festival
DHS participated in a choir festival in Newcastle on Wednesday, August 13. The DHS choir performed well and enjoyed the evening very much.
Soccer
The DHS soccer season has started with a bang for our girls’ team, which beat St Dominic’s 2-1 in their first match. The boys’ team unfortunately lost their match. The DHS first boys’ soccer team attended the Utrecht Soccer Tournament and had a fun-filled day of soccer.
Tennis
The DHS tennis team has had a difficult start to their season. They played against St Dominic’s and Vryheid High School, but unfortunately lost both rounds.
