Dundee High ‘horrified by isolated incident’

“We have always taken a very firm stance on the use and abuse of both legal and illegal substances."

Dundee High School has reacted to today’s random police raid – done in co-operation with the school – where a small packet of cocaine was seized and one Grade 12 learner taken in for furthering questioning.
In a statement to the Courier the school said:
“Dundee High School is shocked and horrified by this isolated incident.
“We have always taken a very firm stance on the use and abuse of both legal and illegal substances.
“In respect of this policy we have ourselves in the past requested that the police assist us in maintaining this standpoint.
We as staff and management of DHS are very concerned about all our learners and the children of our community in general with regard to this scourge sweeping our country.
“We hope that today’s events will serve as a reminder to all parents about what may be happening in this country’s schools. Specifically, we hope also that the learner involved and the parents will deal with this constructively and in the best interests of the learner.”
