According to the SAPS’ Major Mbatha, he first became aware of this scam when two young women came to his office to get certain job application documents certified.
Major Mbatha then inquired as to which jobs they were applying and the young women informed him that they had obtained information on a certain social media site that the SAPS were recruiting.
According to the SAPS, they are currently doing no recruitments and this is a scam with which criminals hope to prey on irreproachable job seekers.
