Making breakfast possible in Dannhauser

Absenteeism rates have dropped since learners started receiving food at the school.

There are fewer hungry tummies and more smiling faces at Dannhauser Primary School, thanks to the Muslim Women’s Forum and the Al-Imdaad Foundation.

The two organisations launched the ‘Make Breakfast Possible’ campaign at the school, ensuring that 70 learners will be fed daily.

They donated a three-month supply of cereal, including bowls and spoons, to the school, ensuring that no child will go hungry.

They also promised to continue to supply learners with breakfast in the years to come.  Teachers at Dannhauser Primary thanked the organisations for their generous contributions.

This is not the first time that the Muslim Women’s Forum has made a difference at the school. They previously launched a successful feeding scheme there, which has benefited learners.

Teachers have reported that absenteeism levels have dropped and that learners are working much harder since they have been getting regular meals.
