On Saturday, August 23, VHS travelled to St Dominic’s to play cricket. The home team batted first and posted 124, all out. Bowlers who stood out were: B Gryffenberg, with 4 wickets for 33 runs in seven overs and I Niebuhr, with one wicket for five runs. VHS then batted and struggled at 40/5, but eventually they pulled the game through with four wickets in hand.
The top batsmen were M Dedekind, with 56 runs and M Gevers, with 29 runs. Well played, boys!
VHS played soccer against St Dominic’s on August 23 and the boys’ team won 3 – 1 while the girls lost 0 – 5.
September 5 is rapidly approaching, so we trust that the matriculants are paying earnest attention to their academics!
