Treverton Prep on the run

Aiden Davies and Storm Veenstra both set up new records 1200 m events

Treverton Prep broke the tradition of usually holding Inter-house athletics on the Thursday morning before mid-term break. This year, they held it on a Saturday and allowed more parents to attend. The longer day also enabled both track and field events to take place on the same day.

Apart from a very cold wind, the Prep achieved both objectives and had a very successful morning! It is anticipated that in future the Foundation phase events can be included as part of the programme. Two promising young track athletes not only exhibited their talent but also broke new long-distance records. Aiden Davies and Storm Veenstra both set up new records 1200 m events. Aiden went on to break this record again the following week at the Inter Prep Athletics day! Both these records have been standing for 10 years.

The results were that at the Foundation Phase competition results were: 1st Livingstone, 2nd Carey and 3rd Judson. In the Senior Primary, Judson won the Relays, followed by Carey then Livingstone and the overall results were: first Carey; second Livingstone and third Judson. The top athletes were Junior Victor and Victrix ludorums were Matthew Smith and Kyla Gogle. The senior achievers were Victor Ludorum Luthando Ndawo and Abigail Reeves won the Senior Victrix Ludorum title.
