EVER wondered what it would be like to take part in a real battle?

We can make it happen and you can experience the noise, smell and fear of shots being fired at you, the adrenalin rush of the bayonet charge, and the feeling of victory or defeat.

The Dundee Die-Hards will be putting on three displays at the Dundee Talana Live Program on the weekend of October 17 to 19.

On Saturday, October 18, the Red Coat Soldiers will give a demonstration of battle tactics during the morning, and the Battle of Talana and the capture of Winston Churchill will take place during the afternoon. These re-enactments will be performed in the uniform and with the weapons of the time period related to the battles.

To make the performance more realistic, we require volunteers to take part. We need men from 18 years old and, if possible, in possession of a weapons competency certificate, as training the men in the use of the weapons and the drill will be required for the re-enactment. We also wish to hold two dress rehearsals, one on September 7 and one on October 5. So, the sooner you join, the better.

Remember, girls love a man in uniform! ontact Vince Nixon on 034 315 2833 in Newcastle or Gavin Slater in Dundee on 084 528 9173.
