ON THURSDAY, August 28, Michaelis held their annual Arts and Culture Evening.

This is a bright and colourful event, where the learners display their beautiful artwork around the hall and recite poetry, play musical instruments and dance.

Parents brought their picnic baskets along and enjoyed delicious snacks while the children performed. In between performances, the children’s artwork was purchased by their proud parents.

Well done, and thank you, to all the learners and teachers who worked so hard to make this evening a success.

Tennis: Our Tennis team played against Huttenpark this past week at the Vryheid Lawn Tennis Club. Huttenpark really challenged our learners and we would like to congratulate them on their win.

Cricket: The u/11 cricket team played against Pongola last Wednesday. Michaelis were the hosts and Mthobisi Dlamini was the best bowler, he took four wickets for 15 runs! Reghan Elliot was the best batsman and he made 24 runs. Well done, boys and congratulations to Pongola on their win.

The u/13 Regional Cricket Trials were held on Friday, August 29. Congratulations to Jaco Keeve, Yusuf Kahn and Nhlangano Zulu, who were selected to represent the Vryheid Regional Side at the Northern Natal trials in Newcastle this coming weekend.
