Encouraging youth to take up the bat
Residents are encouraged to support the KFC Mini Cricket Tournament on September 12 at Paradise A Grounds, starting at 2pm.
Altogether 75 teachers from around the district participated in a Mini Cricket coaching programme held at the Lennoxton Primary School on August 23.
The aim was to promote the sport among local schools.
KFC Mini Cricket coordinator, Anjieth Ramsaroop, hosted the event with the help of two coaches from the Inland Development Unit.
Teachers were educated and tested on the essence of fielding, batting, bowling and drilling exercises for their pupils.
Mr Ramsaroop thanked Dr RS Naicker from the Amajuba Cricket Union for his contribution towards the programme.
The next venture of the KFC Mini Cricket board will be to promote mini cricket in rural areas.
