Posh Nosh cuppa for cancer
Apart from delicious food and the warm environment, Posh Nosh chef, Elna Badenhorst, gave attendees a fun and handy lesson in cake decorating.
It was a morning of aromatic coffee and heart-warming stories. Posh Nosh answered CANSA’s call by hosting a cuppa for cancer on Saturday, August 30.
Staff of Posh Nosh are no strangers to the cancer struggle. A well-known staff member of their mother company, Zama Retailers, who recently survived her ordeal against breast cancer, was invited to tell her gripping story.
Val Wilson, who just turned 59, had the audience spell-bound as she recounted how the fight against cancer has changed her life. “I looked around me and watched as my life flew by; it was a wake up call. We get so caught up in our lives we forget to appreciate all that we have until it’s too late,” she said.
She felt that there was so much to share and so little time. “I admire the work that CANSA does, I know how difficult it can be without the support of the people around you. I could not have done it without my family; my children were incredibly supportive of me through it all”.
