Communication black-out

No coms, no Facebook, no Twitter, no fun

Communication went down in Endumeni for most of Friday after an optic fibre cable was damaged during excavation work on the new Glencoe water pipeline.

Emails, the Internet and mobile calls from the Vodacom network were all knocked-out shortly after midday.  Communication was only restored by around 9pm that night.

Frustrated residents roamed around town trying to look for friends who are on  the MTN and Cell C networks that were unaffected.

It is understood that some ATMs were also not operable as were ‘swiping machines’ at shops.
