Mary Poppins steals the show
Telling the story in dance and mime brought Mary Poppins, Bert (the chimney sweep), and the Banks family to life. The beautiful solo by Yvette Haarhoff, the birdlady, touched the hearts of all.
Audiences were enthralled with Newcastle’s very own Mary Poppins, which was staged September 3 and 4 at Ferrum High School.
The ballet was also thoroughly enjoyed by Grades 1 to 7 pupils of Huttenpark Primary School.
Appearing with dancers from Jenny Devenish School of Ballet, was the wonderful Senior Choir from Huttenpark who sang all the well
known songs from the musical.
