A mine employee died following a blasting accident at Buffalo Coal’s Aviemore operation on Saturday morning. Ambulances rushed to the scene on the Ngisane road to assist

Another employee was also treated as a ‘medical case’ following the blast.
Buffalo Coal, the Department of Minerals and Energy Affairs and the union, AMCU, are investigating the accident.
Kevern Mattison, Buffalo Coal’s General Manager, expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

Ambulances rushed to the scene on the Ngisane road to assist. Condolences have already poured in on social media sites for the bereaved family, work colleagues and friends.
