Buffalo Coal release dead miner’s details
Investigations launched into tragic accident that claimed one live.
Buffalo Coal have released the details of a miner killed following a blasting accident at Buffalo Coal’s Aviemore operation on Saturday morning.
Kevern Mattison, General Manager, confirmed that MS Magasela died from injuries suffered in the accident in Section 2 at about 8am.
He was treated at the Dundee Provincial Hospital, but sadly passed away at about 11am.
Mr Magasela is survived by his wife, Mandisa, three sons and two daughters.
Buffalo Coal, the Department of Minerals and Energy Affairs and the union (AMCU) are investigating the accident.
Mr Mattison expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and friends of Mr Magasela.
