‘High rate’ of burglaries reported

residents are called on to be extra vigilant to safeguard themselves, their families and property

Opportunistic burglars are striking in neighbourhoods across Estcourt.
According to police, the modus operandi is to climb through windows left opened while the occupants in the house are asleep.
Police spokesperson Captain JS Sokhela says that currently the ‘high rate’ of burglaries are scattered around Estcourt and residents are called on to be extra vigilant to safeguard themselves, their families and property.
“We want to warn the Estcourt community to ensure that all windows are closed when they go to sleep because it has been noted that in most of these cases, entrance is gained through a window that was left open,” commented Captain Sokhela.
He added that residents must ensure that someone is able to look after their property when they’re away from home.
