RECENTLY, Landbou High School reported having nine ewes donated to the school.
In the last week, these ewes have delivered the most precious little lambs! Furthermore, Landbou was blessed with the donation of the following farm animals: three heifers; one heifer with a newborn calf; two cows; two bulls and one ram. Landbou is blessed abundantly!
On the sport front: On Saturday, September 27, Landbou hosted the Abaqulusi Municipality, who presented the annual Mayoral selection games. Soccer, netball and volleyball were played. It was an awesome day. Besides all the sport activities, no one could resist the smell of the boerewors that was prepared on the coals. Everyone indulged in the popular boerewors rolls that the Grade 11 class sold!
Matric Farewell: Our Matrics are having their Farewell on October 2. This year promises to be the best Farewell ever! Ms L Lourens and Mrs S Valentine went the extra mile to plan and co-ordinate the function. Watch this space for feedback on this glamorous event.
Heritage day: On September 24, Landbou celebrated National Heritage Day. After the seventh period, the whole school gathered on the rugby field. Meat was prepared on the coals and everyone enjoyed this social gathering. Once again, we have to emphasize: here at Landbou we are like a big family!
Choir: On Sunday, September 28, the popular choir of Landbou was invited by the Vryheid Suid-Oos church to perform during the Sunday morning service. Many tears of joy were shed, as the congregation listened to their performance. Thank you, Ms S Ngubane and the choir, you were awesome!
School holiday: On October 3, school closes for a short holiday. May all of you have a good rest and return on October 13, filled with energy to work hard in term four. I want to use this opportunity to thank our principal, Mrs A van Niekerk, for the diligent and calm manner in which she runs the school. Enjoy the few days of rest Mrs A van Niekerk!
Quote for the week: “A true friend doesn’t care if you are broke or about your past. A true friend loves you for who you are.”
