The Courier has received many calls after a street vendor was spotted on Victoria Street selling raw meat from a table placed in the gutter. The meat was uncovered and appeared to include intestines and other bits and pieces.
The table had been set up in the gutter on Victoria Street opposite the taxi rank.
Some callers expressed their concern over health risks while others said the issue should be treated ‘purely as a willing selling, willing buyer’ transaction. The Health Department has been asked for comment and this will be published when it is forthcoming. Meantime, what is your opinion. Let us know by going to our facebook page.
