Delegates of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Estcourt can look forward to their regional convention to be held from Friday, October 3 to Sunday, October 5 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. An expected 25 000 delegates from across KwaZulu-Natal are expected to attend.
Around the world beginning in June 2014 and continuing to January 2015 a series of three-day international and regional conventions commenced in the United States and continued in Australia, Ecuador, England, Germany, Greece, Mexico, South Korea and Zimbabwe. The international conventions hosted delegates from other countries and visiting missionaries JR Brown who is a spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witness at Brooklyn, New York.
The Convention program is of benefit to the entire public and people of all race groups are welcome to attend.
Present world conditions, economic hardships, family breakdowns, depressions and daily anxieties of life are challenges that the entire human race is facing today. A world free from this is the hope that the Bible delivers.
Out of love for their neighbour, Jehovah’s Witnesses in Estcourt have started inviting all in their neighbourhood to the event by means of a colourful invitation. The cover of the invitation draws attention to A World Government. This is summed up by three questions: Why do we need one? Is it possible? Who is qualified to rule? The answer to these intriguing questions will be given over the three days in an interest-packed program of Bible instruction, which will include talks, symposiums and interviews.
These will be delivered in English, isiZulu and Sign Language. A highlight will be two theatrical productions, which will bring a Bible story and a modern day drama to life.
The first of the drama will be on Friday at 3pm and the second on Sunday at 2pm.
The program will start on all three days at 9.20am. On Saturday at 11.45am the Baptist Talk will be followed by water immersion of new delegates. Admission is free and no collections will be taken. Worldwide there are over 8 300 000 Witnesses. See a complete program schedule and watch a video about the conventions at www.jw.org
