CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners who were named at our prizegiving on Wednesday, September 24, with everyone looking very flashy in their new club shirts.
Sadly, our AGM had to be postponed to October 15, due to a lack of commitment. We need to take into consideration that each member must have a turn and that we can’t expect the same people to take on the responsibility every time.
If we want to continue enjoying our sport of bowls, we need a dedicated committee! Please, think again and commit yourselves.
Last weekend, our club hosted the Northern Senior Singles. Congratulations to Lorraine Vincent, who won the Ladies’ Section and John Douthwaite from Newcastle for winning the Men’s Section.
Thank you Esther; Annette; Wykie and Hannes for helping as markers on Saturday.
Next Wednesday, October 8, is Carol’s again.
The Northern Open Singles are being played in Newcastle on October 18 and 19.
Good luck to the players participating in the President’s Cup this weekend.
