Tragic news for Sam the Barber

Sam the friendly Barber will sadly undergo amputation of his left leg.

Many trials and tribulations have met Sumeer (Sam) on the way of his journey to recovery following his serious motorcycle accident in July.

However, Sam is about to face his toughest challenge yet; today he received news from his doctors that his left leg is to be amputated on Friday, October 10.

His left leg was seriously injured in the motorcycle crash on the corner of Wilson and McKenzie Street. Sam has since been treated in Greys Hospital in Pietermaritzburg where he underwent a series of operations in a bid to save the leg.

According to Sam, “my leg will be amputated from the knee down as it is badly damaged.”

However despite his current situation , Sam bears a smile on his lips and positivity in his heart.

“Although loosing my leg will be a great loss to me, I will get a prosthetic leg and be back to work as soon as possible.”  He also thanked the community of Dundee for their support and assistance.

Sam is a popular figure in Dundee, where he runs Ories Barber Shop on Wilson Street.
