Temporary relief for storm victims
There was an immediate need for blankets, food parcels and plastic sheeting
Mother Nature left a trail of destruction in parts of Umtshezi after a hailstorm last week.
On October 12, the Al-Imdaad Foundation, in partnership with Uthukela District Municipality and Umtshezi Municipality, responded to damages caused by a severe hailstorm to households in the KwaMatshesi, Emobeni, Kwamgwenya (Ward nine) and Haviland (Ward eight) areas.
According to the Uthukela District Disaster report, 85 households were severely affected.
There was an immediate need for blankets, food parcels and plastic sheeting.
The Al-Imdaad Foundation provided blankets and food parcels, whilst the Uthukela District Municipality and the Umtshezi Local Municipality provided plastic sheeting.
