The series, that started in May, comprised of five gruelling 50km mountainbike races in the Zululand area.
Dr Malan showed he is just as deft on the track as he is in the surgery by putting in some excellent performances: he finished third in the Zini River Estate Buffalo Classic, first in the Pick ‘n Pay Elephant Classic in Eshowe, second in the Build It Kwambo Lion Challenge, third in the Anchor Capital Hippo Challenge and first in the Hluhluwe SuperSpar Rhino Challenge.
He was recently presented with first prize in the Grand Master category followed by Chris Davel of Durban and Dr Georg Jacobs of Richards Bay.
