Golfwise offenders show their new-found putting skills

The Glencoe Prison is the only correctional facility in the country where golf is used to rehabilitate prisoners.

Now in its ninth year, the Golfwise programme at the Glencoe Prison teaches offenders not only the game of golf but also life skills.

Today, five offenders graduated with recognised certificates thanks to the Professional Golf Association, the passion of officials at the Glencoe Prison and the dedication of the five graduates.

Graham Tregear, a professional golf teacher with the the PGA operating out of Hillcrest, has been travelling up to Glencoe regularly to teach the five.

And all five have enthusiastically taken to the sport and the skills taught as they seek to change their live for the better,
