Mondlo community neglected

There will be another march

Disgust and disappointment, are two words the Mondlo Residents Association say they have come to expect with anything that involves the AbaQulusi municipality and service delivery.

Municipal officials were subjected to repulsive remarks from the Mondlo Residents Association leaders at this morning’s meeting, which was held at the council chamber to settle the grievance issues of the Mondlo community.

Municipal officials have had to adjourn yet another meeting with the association following the failure of the various municipal departments to answer to the complaints that were provided on the memorandum which was presented at the march which was held in Mondlo early October.

The residents association leaders complained about not being taken seriously as many council officials including the mayor were absent at the meeting regardless of having been told about the meeting in time.

“We are being disrespected by these people that have been put forward as our leaders,” said an angry Mr Enoch Mdlalose who is part of the residents association.

The association members say that they feel that the Mayor is not only undermining them as leaders, but the entire Mondlo community.

“There will be another march because no one seems to be taking any of our issues into consideration,” concluded Mdlalose.

The meeting has been adjourned and will resume at 13:00 today.
