Grade eight pupil raped in Mondlo

An internal investigation has been launched by KZN education officials following the rape of a Grade eight pupil by a teacher in Mondlo.
It is alleged the 44-year-old teacher raped the 15-year-old on Monday after she had failed one of his tests.
The teacher appeared in Vryheid Magistrates court yesterday.
“You can’t have an educator who behaves like this. We are going to take action should it be found that he did indeed do this,” said Department of Education’s Directorate of Communication and Publications Muzi Mahlambi.
According to Mahlambi, the man could face double jeopardy.
“He is going to be criminally charged and as an employer we are also going to take action,” he said.
