Police Exact revenge on robbers
Two suspects shot dead by police.
Police have shot dead two suspects during a shoot-out near Camperdown last night.
The suspects are believed to have been involved in a business robbery at Dundee’s Exact store at about 4.45pm yesterday.
Police received information that the suspicious vehicle was spotted on the N3 near Camperdown.
Pietermaritzburg SAPS and the Flying Squad, conducted a joint operation and tried to stop the vehicle, however, the suspects drove off.
A chase ensued and occupants of the suspected vehicle started to shoot towards the members.
“Polices members retaliated, killing two of the suspects. The other two suspects managed to flee on foot. Two unlicensed firearms, laptops and cellphones were recovered”, police spokesperson, Major Thulani Zwane told the Courier.
The vehicle, which was a VW Polo, was believed to have been stolen from the Berea area in Durban.
