Overturned truck forces Poort Road closure
According to Public Safety, the road is expected to be closed for most of today

A truck overturned, losing its load on Poort Road earlier this morning (Saturday).
It is unclear at this stage what caused the accident. The driver was lucky to escape with minor injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The truck is believed to have been travelling to Port Elizabeth.
Towing services, Ladysmith Fire & Rescue, police and Public Safety officers were on scene, and the road has been closed. Traffic is being redirected via Carbineer Road while clean-up operations take place.
Diesel from the truck flowed into the creek in the middle section of the road, but this was effectively stopped by Fire & Rescue workers before the diesel seeped into the Klip River.
According to Public Safety, the road is expected to be closed for most of today. They will be diverting traffic onto the other side of Poort Road.
