Treverton vs Howick; rain washed out full play

Captain Don Paterson in his usual impressive style and with an eye on the ominous weather made a quick 30 run not out

Treverton 1st Cricket Team played host to Howick on Saturday. Howick won the toss and chose to bat in wet conditions.
After a slow start, Howick Batsmen May Mazibuko and Chris Koning put on a 140 run partnership to see Howick finish on 210 for five off 30 overs. Treverton’s best bowler was experienced grade 12 Devon O’ Brien with 3-23.

Treverton got off to a great start with openers Craig Warren making 75 runs in a striking partnership with grade nine Justin Caldecott achieving 44 not out and the two batsmen had a run partnership of 116.

Captain Don Paterson in his usual impressive style and with an eye on the ominous weather made a quick 30 run not out before the heavens opened leaving Treverton at 161 runs for one wicket off 24 overs. The result was the match was drawn.
