The NFP, together with the Gift of the Givers, recently handed over a number of food parcels to about 2 000 unemployed people in Thokoza, Ulundi. These parcels were a donation from the world renowned Gift of the Givers who responded to a request from the NFP to assist the poverty stricken people in the area, the majority of whom are unemployed. The Mayor of the Zululand District Municipality said that the majority of the people in the area, because of the severe drought crippling this district, cannot till the land to produce their own food. According to Mr Hlatshwayo, the food parcels were handed over by NFP Chairperson and member Zungu, as well as members of the KZN Legislative Assembly, Mr Vikizitha Mlotshwa, Mr Ericson and Mr Bongi Nzuza. This is the third time that this party has organised food parcels for the community of Ulundi. They did this in Zwelisha and in section M of this township.
