Vryheid Tourism recently held their final product holder’s meeting of 2014 at Andrea’s Guest House in Commissioner Street.
Guest speakers, Lizette Vorster and Dennis Jones of the Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch/Community Policing Forum attended the meeting and gave a presentation about their organisation and what it represents to the community of Vryheid. Mr Jones demonstrated the efficient and quick response of the forum by calling in a mock distress call, to which patrolling members reacted swiftly, much to the intrigue of the impressed product holders who were present at the meeting.
Representatives of Nkawu Vervet Project at Mawana Game Reserve were also in attendance and shared a presentation on their research and objectives in the care and rehabilitation of Vervet monkeys and their return to the wild.
The next meeting will take place on March 25 next year.
