Load-shedding to kick in?
Eskom has made an urgent plea for energy conservation

Eskom has announced that load-shedding could come into effect due to technical problems encountered at various power stations. At this stage, Eskom has made an urgent plea to consumers to conserve energy.
“Eskom calls on consumers to switch off geysers, air-conditioners, pool pumps and non-essential appliances from 5pm to 9pm to avoid load-shedding,” said their Twitter account.
Due to the cold weather experienced earlier this week, there was a rise in demand for electricity.
The current threats of load-shedding follow a coal silo collapse earlier this month, which caused major electricity cuts.
See below for an amended load-shedding schedule.
