THURSDAY, November 27, brings about the finals of the Vryheid Squash Club Championships!

Since October, the members have been participating in weekly games to see who is going to reach this week’s finals. Well done to all players. Squash has proved to be the winner so far, which is visible in the improvement in the level of play.

History was also made last week, where father and son, Peet and Devan Coetzee had to play each other. Experience seemed to come in handy, as Peet came out victorious in an epic five set game. Earlier in the championships we had another family affair, when Jeandre and Michelle Potgieter had to play each other. The squash club family is really growing.

The remaining play-off games will be completed before Thursday. The four finals that will be competed in, will start from 6:00pm: A-Section: JD Kruger vs Bruce Barsdorf; A-Plate: Chris van Rooyen vs Donovan Hartslief; B-Section: Jeandre Potgieter vs Clive Mattison and B-Plate: Yvette Barsdorf vs Michelle Potgieter.

After the finals, the prizegiving and braai will be held. If you would like more information on the Club Championships or to RSVP for the finals, please contact Ingrid van Niekerk on 083 232 9676.

A big thank you to Bruce Barsdorf and Donovan Hartslief for fixing the squash club court’s floor. It is much appreciated!
