Eye in the sky will be operational soon

This project has been applauded by locals who hope that the CCTV cameras will help reduce crime

Residents may have noticed that the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras have been erected at specific areas in the central business district as well as in residential areas and entry and exit points of town.

Umtshezi Municipal Manager Nonhlanhla Njoko reports that this project is progressing smoothly and all CCTV camera installations would have been complete by Friday, November 21.

“The trial process will hopefully take place on Monday, November 24. Thereafter the training of staff will take place,” commented Ms Njoko. This project has been applauded by locals who hope that the CCTV cameras will help reduce crime.
