Mystery surrounds patient suicide

There are still many unanswered questions regarding the death of a Dundee Hospital patient.

There are still many unanswered questions surrounding the death of Richard Mdubuzi Khumalo, who hung himself in a hospital ward last month.

The 50-year-old from Lindelani, Sibongile, was admitted to hospital on November 6 after displaying signs of mental illness.

On November 9, family was contacted and told that Richard had committed suicide. Distraught family members have still not received any answers regarding the circumstances of Richard’s death.

Sbonele Dube, hospital communications officer, said that the matter has been handled by the Communications Department at Provincial level and could not comment further.
