CHRISTMAS came early for Mondlo informal traders and 240 disadvantaged young pupils of Wards 17 & 18 of AbaQulusi Municipality. Thanks to the programmes of the Snakho Development Organisation, the Thusano fund donated 200 pairs of school shoes to four schools of Ward 17 – Sishongani, Ntswalakahla, Gamelihle and Fuzokuhle junior schools – and two schools in Ward 18 – Nhliziyonhle and Velankosi junior schools. There were 40 pupils who received full uniforms including school shoes, socks, trousers, shirts, skirts and ties.

In another Snakho programme, five informal traders at Mondlo received a grant from the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA). NYDA spent R90,000 to buy stock for tuckshop traders, as well as an industrial machine and fabric.

The Snakho Development Organisation wishes to thank the NYDA for its interest and assistance.
