Storm causes power outages

Municipal technicians are currently in the process of fixing the power supply in various areas

Residents in and around Ladysmith are up-in-arms because they don’t have electricity today (December 9), and it’s not because of load-shedding.

Last night’s heavy rain and flash flooding caused damage to electricity transformers around town, and technicians are out and about today in an attempt to locate and fix all the problems. For this reason, people will find that their power might go off as electricians work on these problems.

Some areas in Acaciavale were left without electricity last night after the load-shedding. The power did eventually come back on, as technicians managed to fix the problem.

Affected areas included Acaciavale, Circle Road and Steadville.

Municipal technicians are currently in the process of fixing the power supply in these areas.

Be aware that certain areas will have no power due to these repairs.
