THE Jack and Jill Hiking Club’s year end function was held on the weekend of December 6&7 at the Battlefield Caravan Park, situated about 20km from Dundee on the Vryheid road. We were all personally welcomed by Mr and Mrs Scheepers who were our hosts for the weekend.

The Battlefield Caravan Park is beautifully set out, offering electrical points, a sparkling swimming pool, trees for shade and a lovely lapa area. The ablutions blocks are extremely clean and neat, with a nice personal touch, lovely framed pictures on the walls.

A hiking trail is available, which the hikers didn’t attempt it this time, but will certainly be returning sometime to do the trail.

We thank all involved for making the year end function a splendid and enjoyable event.

Jack and Jill Hiking club will begin the new year with a nice social hike to Ithala Game Reserve on the weekend of January 16-18. For enquiries please contact Willem Bouwer on. 082 856 7664.
