One dead, many casualties in bypass crash

While most families were in the spirit of love and togetherness on Christmas Day, unfortunately this wasn’t the case for the occupants of an LDV bakkie that was involved in an accident along the bypass.

The LDV overturned, landing on its roof. It is believed that there were 12 passengers in the bakkie when it flipped. The injured lay all over the road, waiting for emergency services to arrive. Among the occupants was a 2-year-old baby.

Sharaj Ambulance Services and EMRS paramedics treated four critically injured patients, while others sustained moderate injuries.

On arrival at a local hospital, one man was declared dead.
