Umzinyathi District pledges support to Ashmira

Cricketing sensation, Ashmira Pather recently got a huge boost towards her sporting future when the Umzinyathi District Municipality sponsored R6 000 towards her cause.
The municipality came on board after Ashmira made headlines for being the only female in the district selected to represent KZN Inlands at u/19 level. District Mayor, Rev James Mthethwa said they were extremely proud of Ashmira and thanked her for being such a good ambassador for the district.
He pledged that as long as he was in office, the District Municipality would continue to support Ashmira in all her endeavors.
Sadly Ashmira was not selected for the u/19 South African team but is confident that there will be many more opportunities to come. She promised to continue working hard to make her dreams come true and pave a way for other aspiring female cricketers on the pitch.
