A dark cloud seemed to loom over Bhekuzulu this festive season.
The festive season brought tears to many community members as a group of ruthless gangsters was on the loose.
The group of seven (including one female and two underage boys) is said to have went on a rampage stabbing and killing spree throughout the festive season as of Christmas day.
The motive behind these violent acts is unknown by neither the police nor the community members.
On new years eve alone the gang is said to have managed to injure 16 people around Bhekuzulu with two of these injuries resulting in death.
The police have not yet been able to confirm that it was indeed 16 as only 12 cases were reported. Seven of which were robbery and assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm.
With the help of the community, the SAPS were able to arrest the seven and curb further damage but many community members are still living in fear as the gang members applied for bail.
Until the gang is behind bars, many community members feel that their lives and those of their children are on the line.
